John is a business development and management expert who has taken every opportunity in an impressive 30-year career to shore up the success of up-and-coming businesses. A critical thinker and problem solver, he's happiest helping a company reach its stride — whether it's his own initiative, a client's struggling startup or a niche operation he's discussing with a colleague at a gathering of USA 500, Corridor 9 Chamber.
John cofounded the $14 million printing firm Bay State Press in 1988 and sold the company 10 years later to start Gleason Consulting, which he led for 16 years. He also served in executive leadership roles with a national investment banking intermediary headquartered in Manhattan. In 2015, recognizing a gap in operational support for local businesses, he launched his second Supporting Strategies franchise to offer bookkeeping and controller services in MetroWest Massachusetts.
A dedicated member of the MetroWest community, John supports the Find The Cause Breast Cancer Foundation and the Pan-Mass Challenge, a bike-a-thon benefiting the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He holds a Management Accounting Certificate from Cornell University, studied Economics at UMass Boston and completed professional courses in Graphic Arts at Northeastern University. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, reading, motorcycling and fitness training.
